I started writing them when I really didn't have a clue what I was doing. The good thing is that they do earn a little bit of coinage and they are great for backlinks. I have written some ezine articles as backlinks for a couple but thats about it. I prefer the layout of hubpages so do a lot more work there. I love detailed statistics about HubPages since for the longest time I only believed in building my own websites --- but after a little investigation and actually building two Hubs of my own, I can see how leveraging HubPages' Google love could be beneficial and more cost effective than building a new website for every profitable niche I come across.
