So this month has been filled with writing countless hubpages.

Hubpages are highly respected websites where you can earn money via adsense, ebay or amazon links. After reading how well other people have done, I have been trying to get to my own target of writing 100 hubs. That’s 100 different articles. I have been a member of hubpages for 2 months now and so far I have written 74 hubs. I have earned $5.51 so far but as time goes on these hubs should receive more visitors so I look forward to earning more from them. Not all my hubs are written with the view to make money.  The money making topics can get boring so I like to mix it up a bit. This may mean less money but at least I have my sanity.

Reading the exploits of others, particularly a guy called Ben,  I know that it is possible to make a good sum of money so I am still motivated to carry on and try to emulate his success. He is much more knowledgeable so is doing much better than I am money wise but everyone has to start from the bottom in order to get better. The most important point that he hammers home is that it takes a lot of work and energy to make good money and he has proven this by producing a ridiculous amount of content within very short space of time and earning over $200 in his first couple of weeks. As you can see I still have a distance to go but I will keep plodding onwards.

My earnings are not as good as last month as I was neglecting my other sites.  Hope to start creating new niche sites after I reach my 100 hub target.

My Adsense Earnings For May 09

So here goes, what I have made for the month of May:

Earnings from all my sites -$73.49

making an average daily earning of -  $3.20

Earnings from my keyword experiment sites -$2.26

My Keyword Experiment

This past month I have been spending time doing keyword experiments to find out if I am actually doing it correctly. I didn’t want to waste my time picking a keyword, buying the domain name, writing lots of content and then find that the site ends up on page 500 of Google’s search engine earning nothing at all.

At times it has felt as if I have not really achieved anything because at the end of the month I have no new sites and have created no new streams of income. However the positive aspect is that every time I create a hubpage or write an article I am learning something new. Eventually I hope to get to the point where I can choose great keywords and increase my earnings even more.

The best thing about my keyword experiment is that it is not costing me anything except my time because I am using free blogger blogs and hubpages. Once I get better, I will start investing in my own domain names so that everything I write will definitely belong to me. I am still in the learning phase and know that I still have a long way to go.

Fingers crossed all goes well and that I can keep up my motivation.  I know that there is money at the end of the rainbow.  I just have to stay on the journey and try not to give up too quickly.

I am now on day 14 of the 30 day challenge. I am fairly new to this whole blogging and making money on the internet thing and I have learned so much stuff in such a short space of time.

So far I have learned among other things:

  • How to do market research on the net and pinpoint good keywords
  • How to create a squidoo page (I had never heard of before)
  • How to create a hubpage (I had never heard of this before either)

There are still 17 days to go. I wonder how much more I will learn. Can’t wait.

I have so far created two new websites. I am not sure that the keywords I have chosen to focus on will be strong enough to attract enough traffic so that it will be on the first page of Google search. I am still trying to get my head around the market research aspect of the challenge. I have picked words that the research tells me are the words people type into the Google search engine when they are looking for information on these particular subjects. Only time will tell if my interpretation of the keyword data was right.

My first site, which I published 5 days ago has received a total of 17 visitors so far. My second site, which I published yesterday, has received 4 visitors so far. Is that good, is that bad? Both sites have products for sale but I haven’t had any buyers yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed. I really do hope that I am able to complete the challenge and earn my first $1.00 in the 30 days. C’mon people, buy buy buy!
